Who's behind this

A builder, not a marketer.

I spent nine years building an ISP in Mozambique from nothing into a $5M-funded business that grew 9x and was eventually acquired by NTT. I didn’t have a playbook. I figured out how to get found, how to make the case, and how to close. That’s where ChangeMastr came from.

The lesson

That ISP taught me more about winning business than any playbook could have. Most businesses skip the hard part. Then wonder why nothing works. There’s a sequence to this. Position first. Then build. Then scale. Most businesses do it backwards, and when it doesn’t work they blame the product, the market, the timing. It’s almost never any of those. The problem is the positioning: they never did the hard work of figuring out exactly why a buyer should choose them over the next firm on the list. I go deep into that before anything else gets built.

The work goes to whoever shows up first and makes the strongest case. Not the best business. The most visible one.

Why I built Kev

For years I did this by hand, one business at a time: the positioning, the content, the follow-ups, watching for the message that came in at 11pm. Every business I worked with hit the same wall eventually. They couldn’t afford a marketing person. They couldn’t afford a customer service person. So they did both themselves, badly, on top of the work they were actually good at. I built Kev because that wall shouldn’t exist. It’s the same work, built into something a business can actually afford to run. I also built the AI Threat Index, a free tool for an honest read on where a business is exposed to AI-native competitors. Different tool, same instinct: show people the truth about where they stand.
